Xbox One X Detailed Specification

Here’s where things get technical: the eight-core Custom AMD CPU clocked at 2.3gHz, allows for faster processing and smoother game play, while a hefty 12GB GDDR5 of graphic memory adds speed and power, reducing those pesky load times and allowing for the creation of bigger, more robust, worlds. 326GB per second memory bandwidth adds more detail to graphics, and a six-teraflop GPU promises ultra-realistic 4K environments (that’s a considerable increase from the 4.2 teraflops currently offered by the Ps4 Pro). Aimed at giving players the most eye-watering detailed experiences ever from a console, Xbox One X is a powerhouse, offering a true 4K gaming experience. Microsoft has also stated that Xbox One X will ship with an ultra HD Blu-ray drive for 4K movies and 1TB of storage.

Maintaining their affinity for backward compatibility, all current Xbox One accessories and games will work with Xbox One X from day one – which should minimize the damage to your bank balance that comes with investing in a new games console. Some savvy technical wizardry also means that older games will benefit from a performance boost on Xbox One X. For those yet to take the leap to 4K, Microsoft has promised an aesthetic enhancement for games rendered in 4K, even on a 1080p output.

The impressive technical capabilities of Xbox One X are sure to generate some serious heat, and so Microsoft has installed a liquid-cooled vapor chamber, something normally reserved for high-end PC gaming cards. a true testament to good things coming in small packages, Xbox One X is also the smallest of all the Xbox consoles. Of course, all this power means nothing if you don’t have a wealth of high-quality games to play on it. Fortunately, the new console looks set for a strong start with Microsoft announcing 22 “console launch exclusives” including Crackdown 3, Forza Motorsport 7, and a sea of thieves.

There’s no denying the impressiveness of this latest iteration of Xbox One. However, with all the improvements being exclusively hardware-based, the value you place on getting the best possible graphics and performance will ultimately determine whether you feel it’s worth taking the plunge.
